Some are saying that Salsa is on the decline, especially in the USA. Many events that were all about Salsa seek to expand their base by offering other types of dance.  Some events have even proudly stated that they will not have Salsa. At the Capital Congress, we too reach out to other genres of dance. We offer ballrooms, workshops and performances in many genres of dance. We offer a Bachata room, a Kizomba room, and even a Zouk room.

However, the Capital Congress is first, and foremost, about Salsa.

Each decision we make about the event is not about bringing more people. It’s about making an event that the Salsero will love. We will never sacrifice the Salsa experience. If you eat, sleep, and breathe to congas, clave, montunos, and cowbells, then we are making a 2017 event that you will love. So next time you hear someone say that Salsa is on the decline, tell them about the Capital Congress. For 13 years now, our mission is the same: Keep bringing Salsa back!
