SalsaDMV - Michelle Reyes

Michelle Reyes is a salsa dance instructor in Washington, DC and has been teaching dance for 13 years. She has a salsa dance studio in Bethesda, MD and founded her company SalsaDMV, 4 years ago. SalsaDMV which stands for DC, MD, VA, has grown tremendously and holds weekly group classes, monthly socials and workshops. They also host 3 weekday salsa nights at local dance venues. SalsaDMV is definitely a great place for the beginner dancer that wants to learn and for the seasoned salsero looking for a hot spot to dance!

Michelle has over 100 students from the DC metro area that take Latin dance classes weekly. She is an active and predominate member of the DC salsa community with a genuine desire to spread the love of dance! Recently, her most popular salsa night, "Salsa Tuesdays" at The Barking Dog, celebrated an 8 Yr Anniversary and has now become the largest and longest running salsa night in the area!

Personally, Michelle has competed and won salsa dance competitions, performed nationally and internationally at various salsa congresses, and trained with some of the best salsa coaches in the world. Michelle loves teaching her students and has choreographed and trained 7 student groups, judged salsa competitions, and taught at major salsa congresses and festivals. She has been a featured instructor for the past 3 years at The DC Salsa Congress!

Last year Michelle founded Mambo Swing Dance Company and co-directs the dance team with Andy Cruz of NYC. In 2010, she co-directed the 1st Salsa Fashion Show in DC and has her own men’s custom clothing line called J. Hilburn. She is a fun and energetic person that absolutely LOVES to dance! Salsa dancing is her passion and she knows how lucky she is to be able to share this art with everyone. Michelle can make dancing very easy to learn and her friendly and encouraging approach will make you want to continue to learn more!
