Universal Mambo - Eric Baez
Eric Baez, Bronx, New York-born director, choreographer and performer, officially opened Universal Mambo Dance Academy on January 2, 2005 in Orlando, Florida. Eric has traveled world-wide to Asia, Europe, Canada, and throughout the United States to perform and to instruct workshops for dancers, thus sharing his unique flavor.
Eric first studied as a student for two years, then excelled for four years on the professional team with the famous Mambo King and Queen, Eddie and Maria Torres.
His performance resume, which includes dancing On2 for the past 10 years, has given him the opportunity to perform alongside Celia Cruz, Jose Alberto "El Canario", and Victor Manuelle. Eric has performed throughout Europe to cities in Italy, Switzerland, France, Canada and throughout the USA.
Eric is well known for his smooth style, innovative turn patterns, and strong musicality. In the past five years that his academy has been open, Eric's dynamic personality has taken South and Central Florida dance scene by storm. Universal Mambo Dance Academy is the first On2 mambo academy in Central Florida. Eric teaches mambo in such a detailed manner using genuine and indispensable material, that everyone who has seen his work leaves with a lasting impression of his skill. His newly-formed professional dance company has already earned Eric worldwide recognition from Spain to Japan. He is sought after as an instructor and as a performer at congresses and various dance events on both the East and West coasts of the United States and internationally.
